You keep a trading firm's systems running and fix them fast when they break, so that the traders can keep trading. The seat sits in the Trading Platform team at DRW, a firm that trades with its own money in markets around the world. The job is to look after the technology the traders rely on, not to build the trading strategies themselves.

Trading Systems Engineer is the firm's name for the seat. It blends two jobs. One is trade support, which means being the first person a trader calls when a screen freezes or an order will not go through. The other is site reliability engineering, which means building the monitoring and automation that stops the same fault happening twice.
