What Xlookup is

A list of every junior finance job in London, with a plain-English explanation of each one. Built by G2G Advisory, whose whole premise is one line: talent is universal, opportunity shouldn't be.

Why it exists

Every other site publishes a list. A student reading "UK Industrials ESG Leveraged Finance Analyst / Associate" on one of those lists has no idea what they are looking at: who the team is, what they do, whether they can even apply. If you have a sibling in the industry you ask them. If you don't, you guess. This site is the sibling. Every posting carries a briefing that explains it.

How to use it

  1. Say which year you're in and the advisor tells you which routes are open to you and which have closed.
  2. Read what a word means whenever a job title doesn't make sense.
  3. Track the firms you'd actually apply to and we email you within the hour when they post.
  4. Before you apply, read the "Are you eligible?" section on the posting. It saves wasted applications.

What is on the site

Jobs, straight from the firms' own careers pages, with a briefing on each. Firm pages with their teams and when they usually hire. Jargon and the G2G library for the words and the story behind them. What's on Xlookup has the numbers.

What is free, and what isn't

Free, permanently: every posting, every briefing, all of Jargon, tracking, alerts, the advisor, one CV rewrite. Knowing how the game works is not the thing to charge for. Membership (£12 a month, £30 a term) adds the things that need timing and legwork: which firms usually hire in the months just ahead, who to write to, the full G2G library, and a CV tailored to a posting. The G2G library

The explanations behind the Jargon pages come from the G2G library at green2gold.app, written by someone who did the job. Jargon pages carry a short version free; the full chapters are in the library.
