What the job is

You work out what computing capacity should cost in the future, for a firm trading it before a proper market for it exists. The seat is a Quantitative Researcher in DRW's Compute Markets team in London. Compute capacity, meaning time on the processors that run artificial intelligence and other heavy workloads, is becoming something people buy and sell. There are spot indices, which track today's price, listed futures are in development, and firms already negotiate private forward and structured deals. Almost nobody in that market can price the risk in those deals. This team intends to, and you build the pricing framework it needs.

A forward curve is the set of prices for delivery at each future date. In an established market you read it off the screen. Here there is no observable forward market, so you have to construct it from first principles, reasoning from supply, demand and the cost of the hardware underneath.
