You trade shares and the derivatives built on them with the firm's own money, finding mispricings and taking positions on them.

The seat is on the equities and derivatives side of a proprietary trading firm. Proprietary means the firm trades its own capital rather than clients' money, so your profit and loss is the firm's. The remit is deliberately open. You start from the products you already know and widen out as you learn, with the shape of the job following where you are strongest.
