What the job is

You help a bank's currency research team build the forecasts, tools and data its clients use to judge where exchange rates are heading. The seat is a 12 month internship with the FX research team at Crédit Agricole CIB in London, where FX means foreign exchange, the market in which one currency is traded for another. The team sits within Global Markets, the bank's trading business, and its research is read by the companies, banks and investors who trade currencies with the bank and by its own desks. The bank calls the seat FX Quantitative Intern.

Quantitative here means the number work behind the research. You keep the databases that feed the forecasts, build and improve the tools that run on them, and make sure every chart and figure in a published piece is right.
