'Investment Solutions' is in the title and nowhere in the body. Everything under the header is written for the adviser track - 'As an Advisor Summer Intern in the Global Private Bank.', 'As a future Advisor, you'll work with our team of advisors and specialists to bring in new clients', and a required qualification of a 'desire to ultimately work with external clients in a relationship building and sales capacity'. The page's own Similar Jobs list then carries 'Global Private Bank - Advisor Summer Internship Program - London' as a separate advert. So either this posting is carrying the Advisor copy, or the two tracks share one description. Ask the recruiter which desk this application actually feeds before you spend it - the difference between an investment-solutions summer and a client-coverage summer is the difference between two careers.

'Global Private Bank' is the token that places you. This is wealth management - the client is a person or a family rather than a company - and it sits in Asset & Wealth Management, a different business unit from the Commercial & Investment Bank where the M&A and markets internships live. The posting also asks for someone highly driven who enjoys working in teams on complex solutions, with exceptional interpersonal, communication, logical thinking and problem-solving skills, excellent organisation and the ability to multitask, a genuine interest in financial markets and macro-level economic trends, a desire to ultimately work with external clients in a relationship building and sales capacity, and good judgment and discretion with confidential information. Two gates here, not one, and both are hard. You must graduate in January or July 2028 and be in your penultimate year - a final-year student, or a master's student finishing in 2027, is outside this intake whatever else they bring. Check the month you actually finish before you apply.

The last line of the required list is a filter, not a personality question. They ask for a desire to end up working with external clients in a relationship-building and sales capacity. A private bank summer is a client business, and an application written as 'I want to research markets quietly' is answering a question nobody asked. If that description genuinely does not appeal, one of the other 2027 London programmes listed at the foot of this same page is the better spend of the application.
