What this title actually means

This is Rothschild & Co's 2027 UK Wealth Management Summer Analyst Programme: a ten-week internship in London, starting June 2027, in the firm's Wealth Management division. Applications opened on 19 August 2026, and the firm states it recruits on a rolling basis, accepting applications and interviewing continuously once applications are open. Source

The ten weeks as the firm describes them: an intensive classroom training programme covering technical skills, with internally led presentations and soft skills training, and then a rotation between two Client Advisor teams. Day to day you would support the team in determining clients' investment requirements, coordinating investment advice and handling the day-to-day needs of clients, with project work giving exposure to the Investment, Lending and Management teams, plus networking events and learning sessions across the summer. Source

Wealth Management is the token that decides whether you want this. Your client is a person or a family rather than a company: the work is advice on private money, what it is invested in, what it is lent against, what the family needs next, and it is measured in relationships held rather than deals closed. That is a genuinely different job from the M&A side of the same firm, which sits in Global Advisory and is a separate application with different interview questions. Neither is the lesser route, but they are not interchangeable and you should not apply to this one as a way of getting near the other.

The team

The division is Wealth Management, which the firm's own site describes as taking a long-term perspective to help private clients preserve and grow their wealth, and which the site lists alongside rather than inside Global Advisory, Asset Management and Five Arrows. Inside it, the intern rotates between two Client Advisor teams, the client-facing units of the business. Source

6 people have held London roles in Rothschild & Co's Wealth Management division since 2018, against 83 in its M&A unit and 74 in Global Advisory. This is the small side of a very large London house, which cuts both ways: fewer alumni to find and fewer people to ask, but a division where one good intern is noticed rather than counted.

Two Client Advisor teams in ten weeks means two sets of people forming a view of you and no single desk that owns you. Find out which two as early as you can, and treat the second rotation as the one that has to end with somebody willing to argue for you in a room you are not in.

The firm

Rothschild & Co runs four businesses and the site lays them out plainly: Global Advisory for M&A and capital markets advice, including restructuring and liability management, global markets solutions, sovereign, geostrategic and ESG advisory; Wealth Management for private clients; Asset Management, serving institutional clients, financial intermediaries and independent financial advisers across equity strategies, fixed income, diversified allocation and open architecture; and Five Arrows, the alternative assets arm running private equity and private debt, including corporate private equity, multi strategies, direct lending and credit management. Source

321 people have held London roles at Rothschild & Co as a whole since 2018, one of the deepest London benches, spread across advisory, wealth, asset management and the alternatives arm.

What this posting signals

A 2027 programme opening in August 2026 for a June 2027 start is the annual campus cycle, and the graduation rule ties it to the 2028 graduate intake. Read the conversion sentence exactly as it is written, though: those who perform well will be considered for any suitable permanent position that may be available the following summer. Considered, and only if one exists. That is the honest wording of a strong route in rather than a promise, and the following summer means summer 2028, which is when you graduate.

The firm says outright that there is no closing date: it recruits on a rolling basis, interviews continuously from the day applications open, and encourages early submission. That makes 19 August 2026 the only date on this row that matters, and every week after it a cost you pay in reduced odds. A ten-week wealth programme is a small intake; by the winter the useful seats are gone whatever the page still says.

Are you eligible?

The gate is explicit. The programme is solely for penultimate-year students; you will be graduating in 2028; and anyone on a two-year Master's course must be taking up the option to graduate in 2028. The firm also asks for AAB at A Level or equivalent and to be on track for a minimum of a 2:1 or equivalent in your degree, plus a genuine interest in the financial markets, strong analytical and numerical skills, good MS Office skills across Word, Excel and PowerPoint, excellent communication and teamwork, attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines. Source

Two hard filters here, and both are worth checking before you spend the application. The graduation year is absolute: graduate in 2027 and you are a year too late for this intake, graduate in 2029 and you are a year early, and neither is a case you can argue. The A Level bar is printed as a requirement rather than a preference, which most London summer programmes do not do, so if you are below AAB or its equivalent this is not the row to fight on. Both filters are stated up front precisely so that people self-select, which is more useful to you than a page that hides them until the form.
