2027 UK Global Advisory Spring Insight Programme
No deadline given. It closes when the places fill, which on a sought-after London desk is often weeks after it opens. Apply as if it closes tomorrow.
What this title actually means
A four-day insight programme in London in spring 2027, aimed at students in their first year of university or second year of a four-year course. Applications open on 29 September 2026 and Rothschild & Co recruits on a rolling basis, encouraging early submission. At the end of the programme, strong performers will be offered the opportunity to go through a fast-track assessment process for the following year's Summer Internship programme. Source
'Spring Insight' is the first-year programme, and 'insight' is the honest word for it: four days of shadowing, sessions and presentations, not a desk seat with work on it. Nobody expects you to model anything. What the title does not say, and what makes the row worth an application, is in the last line of the overview - the fast-track assessment for the summer internship. That is the product being sold here.
'Global Advisory' tells you what you will be shown: the page names M&A, Debt & Restructuring and the Global Market Solutions equity advisory business as the centre of the programme, with additional exposure to Wealth & Asset Management and Five Arrows. Four days is enough to find out which of those you want and, just as usefully, which you do not - and a first-year who can say why is unusual in a summer internship interview eighteen months later.
The team
The programme is centred on Global Advisory, which the firm describes here as including its M&A, Debt & Restructuring and Global Market Solutions equity advisory businesses, plus exposure to the Wealth & Asset Management and Five Arrows alternative assets divisions. During the four days you shadow junior bankers, take part in skills sessions, listen to presentations, network with bankers of all levels, and tour the firm's historical archives. Source
74 people have held London roles in Rothschild & Co's Global Advisory since 2018 - the division you would be shadowing, and the one the summer internship this fast-tracks you towards places its interns in.
The firm
Rothschild & Co's site sets out four businesses: Global Advisory (M&A and capital markets advice), Wealth Management, Asset Management, and Five Arrows, its alternative assets arm running private equity and private debt funds. Source
321 people have held London roles at Rothschild & Co as a whole since 2018, across those four businesses.
What this posting signals
The fast track is the whole chain in one sentence. Four days in spring 2027 buys a shortened process for the 2028 summer internship, and that internship is what fills the graduate class. This is the cheapest point in the entire sequence at which to buy an advantage - the competition is first-years, most of whom have not yet worked out that the process starts this early, and the technical bar is nil.
Applications open on 29 September 2026, which is three weeks away as this is written, and then run on a rolling basis with no closing date. That gives you a concrete plan: have the CV and the answers finished before the end of September, and apply in the first week the form is live rather than in the new year.
Are you eligible?
The firm states it plainly: you will be graduating in 2029, and eligible students will be in their first year of university or their second year on a four-year course. On track for a minimum of a 2:1 or equivalent, motivated to explore a career in advisory, commercially aware, and a good team player. Source
The graduation year is a hard gate, not a guideline, and it is where most wasted applications go. Graduating 2029 means you are in scope; graduating 2028 means you are past this programme and should be applying to the penultimate-year summer route instead; graduating 2030 means you are a year early and this same row will come round again. Check your expected graduation year against that single number before you spend anything on it.
