Evergreen - 2027 Global Advisory Graduate Programme - London
No deadline given. It closes when the places fill, which on a sought-after London desk is often weeks after it opens. Apply as if it closes tomorrow.
What this title actually means
Read the firm's own words before anything else on this row: 'Following this year's highly successful Summer Internship and pipeline programmes, we are not currently recruiting for our 2027 UK Graduate Programme. If you wish to register your interest, please submit an application. To confirm, this is not an open vacancy however, should this change, those who apply to the Evergreen role will be considered in the first instance.' The job it describes is a permanent role in London starting July 2027, aimed at final-year students or recent graduates. Source
Take the tokens in order. '2027' is the intake year and July 2027 the start. 'Global Advisory' is Rothschild's advisory division - M&A, financing, restructuring and equity advisory. 'Graduate Programme' is the permanent analyst job, not an internship. And 'Evergreen', the word in front of all of it, is recruiting jargon for a posting that stays up permanently to collect applications rather than to fill a seat. This row is a waiting list with a job description attached, and the firm says so plainly rather than leaving you to work it out.
That does not make it worthless, and it does not make it closed either - the firm commits to looking at Evergreen applicants first if a seat opens. It does change what the row is worth to you: it belongs in the ten-minute pile, not the ten-hour one, and it should not displace an application to something that is actually recruiting.
The team
The division is Global Advisory, whose service lines the firm's own site lists as M&A and Strategic Advisory, Global Financing Solutions, Restructuring & Liability Management, Global Markets Solutions, Special Advisory, Global Investor Advisory, Sovereign Advisory, Geostrategic Advisory and ESG Advisory. The posting does not say which of them a graduate would join. Source
The work, as the firm describes it: research the industries clients operate in to support senior bankers' marketing initiatives, including contributing content to pitch books; develop and maintain standard or bespoke financial models under guidance from senior bankers in your team; use a range of valuation techniques including discounted cash flows, trading comparables, transaction comparables and LBO-based approaches; support the team in coordinating the transaction process internally and by liaising with clients, their counterparties and other advisers; and develop relationship skills through client contact and exposure to senior bankers. 74 people have held London roles in Rothschild & Co's Global Advisory since 2018 - the division this programme feeds, and the population you would be joining the bottom of.
The firm
Rothschild & Co's site sets out four businesses: Global Advisory, Wealth Management, Asset Management, and Five Arrows, the alternative assets arm running private equity and private debt funds. Source
321 people have held London roles at Rothschild & Co as a whole since 2018.
What this posting signals
The reason the firm gives is the most useful sentence on the page, and it is easy to skim past: the 2027 graduate class came out of the summer internship and pipeline programmes. That is the whole map of how you get into this building. The graduate application is not the front door at Rothschild & Co London - the internship a year earlier is, and by the time the graduate posting would have opened the seats were already spoken for.
There is no deadline here because there is nothing to be late for. Register if you want to be in the file, keep an eye on the page in case the position changes, and put the hours you would have spent on this application into the internship and long-term internship routes that are open now. If you are already a graduate and the internship window has passed, direct-entry graduate seats are the wrong place to spend your autumn at this firm.
Are you eligible?
Aimed at students in their final year of university or recent graduates; the role is permanent, starting July 2027 in London. It begins with a six-week Global Graduate Training Programme in London covering the financial concepts needed in your team plus communication, resilience and team building, alongside graduates from other countries. The firm states that those who have not studied a finance-related degree, or have previous financial advisory experience, will be given all the support necessary to hit the ground running. It asks for a minimum 2:1 or equivalent on track, a genuine interest in corporate finance with good commercial awareness, strong analytical and numerical skills, MS Office, and communication and teamwork. Source
The training paragraph is a real eligibility signal and worth holding on to for the routes that are open: Rothschild states outright that a non-finance degree is not a barrier and that six weeks of training exists to close the gap. The subject you read is not the filter at this firm. Timing is.
