You spend a summer inside the bank's team that lends to and advises large companies and financial institutions, learning how loans, bonds and other financing are put together. Global Banking is the part of Standard Chartered's Corporate & Investment Banking business that provides credit and advisory solutions to corporate and financial institution clients around the world. Credit here means lending in its many forms. The products run across loans, bonds, structured credit and advice on transactions. Over 10 weeks you are placed in one of its specialist teams and work on live client problems.

You are matched to one team based on your skills, interests and strengths. The areas are Capital Markets, Commercial Real Estate, Financing Solutions, Fund Finance, Infrastructure Development & Finance Group, Leveraged & Acquisition Finance and Private Credit, and Transportation Finance. Each lends to or raises money for a different kind of client or asset. Commercial real estate teams lend against buildings, fund finance teams lend to investment funds, leveraged finance teams arrange the debt behind company takeovers, and transportation finance teams finance ships, aircraft and other transport assets.
