Financial markets

You spend 10 weeks inside a bank's markets business, learning how it trades currencies, interest rates, bonds and commodities for clients. The seat is a summer internship in Financial Markets, the part of Standard Chartered that helps clients manage risk and raise money across asset classes, and it sits inside the bank's Corporate and Investment Banking business. The bank calls it the Global Markets Internship Programme 2027.

You are matched to one area during the assessment process, so the internship is also a way of finding out which part of a markets floor fits you. For many interns it is the first step to a graduate job at the bank.
