You spend 10 weeks in a bank's advisory team, helping large companies decide how to structure their debt, protect their credit rating and finance a shift to lower carbon. The team is Strategic Advisory & Solutions, SAS for short, a global advisory platform inside Standard Chartered's Corporate & Investment Banking business. It advises corporate and financial institution clients on capital structure, financing and sustainability decisions, and it works across every sector and product rather than owning one. The bank calls the seat the Strategic Advisory & Solutions Internship Programme 2027.

SAS does not sell a product of its own. It works with the bank's coverage, product and sector teams to spot opportunities, free up the bank's balance sheet and bring in revenue, so an intern here sees how advice turns into deals across the whole bank.
