Spring week / insight programme

A spring week is a short introduction to a firm, usually a few days long, for people early in their university course. You meet teams across the firm, hear what each part of the business does, and take part in talks and small exercises. It is not a working placement, and nobody expects you to know the job already.

Its real value is what it leads to. Many firms offer the people who do well a fast track into their summer internship the following year, sometimes without a second full application. It is also the easiest way to find out which kind of work suits you before you have to choose.

Applications usually open in the autumn and many firms fill places as they go, so applying early matters more than the closing date the firm gives.
