What the job is
You spend 3 days inside a bank's advisory business, seeing how bankers help companies buy, sell and fund themselves. It is a short introduction for early university students, not a working placement. You are shown how the Financial Advisory business in London works, who does what, and what an analyst's day looks like.
Financial Advisory is the part of Lazard that advises companies, private equity firms and governments. It helps them with M&A, which means buying or selling whole businesses, with raising capital, and with restructuring, which means renegotiating a company's debts when it cannot pay them. The bank is paid for its advice rather than investing its own money.
