You spend a 12-month placement year inside one of Lazard's London deal teams, doing the research and analysis that supports its bankers' advice to clients. Lazard's Financial Advisory business advises companies, private equity firms and governments on mergers and acquisitions, on raising capital and on restructuring, which means renegotiating a company's debts when it cannot pay them.

Bankers sit in industry teams, which cover one sector, or product teams, which run one kind of deal. You are assigned to one such team for the whole 12 months, starting in June 2027, and you do real work for real clients before returning to university to finish your degree. The placement can lead to a full time offer for the following year's Analyst programme.
