The Global Multi-Industries (GIG) team covers the broadest array of investment banking clients across essential sectors such as Automotive, Building Materials, Business Services, Capital Goods, Chemicals, Packaging, Transportation, Infrastructure and more (source)

What this title actually means

This is Bank of America's 2027 Off-cycle Analyst internship in Investment Banking, London, placed in the Global Multi-Industries team, which the bank abbreviates GIG (its Global Industries Group, the industrials coverage team). The programme starts Monday 11 January and runs four months with an option to extend by two; the year is not printed against the date, but the title and the July 2027 graduate start make it the 2027 intake. Source

As an Off-cycle Analyst you work on projects alongside bankers in industry, product and country coverage groups, help deliver client solutions using the whole bank, contribute to client presentations and the financial analysis beneath them, and take part in executing transactions with clients, other banks and advisers. Formal training comes at the start, with on-the-job support, speaker events and mentorship after. Source

'Multi-Industries' is the team, not a rotation. The bank has posted the same Off-cycle Analyst programme under several sector names with identical programme, eligibility and deadline text, and EMEA applicants get one application per season, so this is one intake with sector placements and applying here means choosing industrials.

The team

GIG covers the broadest array of clients in the division, across Automotive, Building Materials, Business Services, Capital Goods, Chemicals, Packaging, Transportation, Infrastructure and more. The bank says it is among its largest teams, with 50+ bankers covering well-known industrial companies across EMEA and working daily with partners in the US and APAC. An analyst here gets exposure to live deals across M&A, equity capital markets and leveraged finance, interacts with clients early, and the group describes itself as one of the most diverse in the bank with a strong mentorship culture. Source

139 people have held London roles at Bank of America's IBD since 2018, the division GIG sits inside. there is no separate count for the industrials team, so read that as the wider London analyst population rather than the 50+ bankers the advert describes.

A 50-plus-banker group that runs from chemicals to transport is the widest coverage seat on offer in this intake. That is good if you do not yet have a sector and want deal flow; it also means your sector knowledge in interview should be one industrial vertical you can go deep on, not the whole list.

The firm

Bank of America describes its purpose as helping make financial lives better through the power of every connection, delivered through Responsible Growth, and states a commitment to an in-office culture with specific attendance requirements and role-based flexibility. Applications are capped at 8 per recruitment season worldwide and EMEA applicants may submit only one; after that you cannot apply to any other EMEA programme that season. Source

321 people have held London roles at Bank of America as a whole since 2018, against 139 in IBD, so investment banking is the largest single destination for the bank's London hires.

What this posting signals

Recruiting is rolling once applications open, assessments often begin before the deadline, and the bank says applications may close before the stated date. Anyone converted to a full-time offer must join the graduate programme from July 2027; no deferred starts are offered. Source

Thirteen days from posting to deadline, with rolling assessment inside it, makes the first week the practical deadline. A January start, four-plus-two months and a July 2027 graduate start together describe a route into the 2027 analyst class for someone already finishing, not a taster.

The one-EMEA-application rule is the decision. If you want the biggest team and the widest deal flow, this is the sector advert to spend it on; if you want a narrower group you already know, spend it there instead.

Are you eligible?

You must hold or be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's from an accredited university. If already graduated, your graduation date must be after January 2026; if still studying, all exams and coursework must be complete before July 2027, and the bank may ask for evidence. On track for a minimum 2:1 or equivalent; available from Monday 11 January for four months plus a possible two-month extension; able to start the graduate programme in July 2027 if offered. Essentials: fluency in English; drive, innovation and a genuine interest in financial markets; teamwork, leadership, problem-solving and creativity; analytical skill with financial and commercial acumen; persuasive communication; integrity. Source

The window is narrower than it reads: a 2025 graduate is out, a final-year student finishing in summer 2027 is in, and a penultimate-year student cannot be in London full-time from January and belongs in the summer analyst intake.
