Investment Banking 2027 Off-cycle Analyst, Real Estate, Gaming and Leisure EMEA (REGL) - London
Closes tomorrow, Sun 13 September
What this title actually means
This is Bank of America's 2027 Off-cycle Analyst programme in Investment Banking, London, with placement in the Real Estate, Gaming & Lodging team (REGL; the title spells it 'Real Estate, Gaming and Leisure'). The programme runs from Monday 11 January for four months, with an option to extend by two months; the year is not printed against the date, but the title and the July 2027 graduate start make it the 2027 intake. Source
'Off-cycle' means an internship outside the summer window: as an Off-cycle Analyst you work on projects alongside bankers in industry, product and country coverage groups, help deliver client solutions using the whole bank, contribute to client presentations and the financial analysis under them, and take part in executing transactions, including work with clients and with other banks and advisers. Formal training comes at the start, with on-the-job support, speaker events and mentorship after. Source
The sector line is the team you would sit with. The bank has advertised the same Off-cycle Analyst programme under several sector names with identical programme, eligibility and deadline text, and the advert itself says EMEA applicants may submit only one application per recruitment season. So this is one intake with sector placements, and picking this advert is picking real estate, gaming and lodging as your group for the four months.
The team
The REGL team in London covers a wider spread than traditional property: traditional real estate (residential, office, retail, logistics); alternative real estate (data centres, prop tech, self-storage, flex office); gaming (casinos, online betting, gaming tech); and lodging (student housing, hotels, resorts, holiday parks, theme parks, leisure). It works across the EMEA region and across every investment banking product, naming M&A, Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets and Structured Capital Solutions, and says juniors get hands-on experience and direct client access from the outset. Source
139 people have held London roles at Bank of America's IBD since 2018, the division REGL sits inside. there is no separate count for the REGL team itself, so read that number as the size of the wider analyst population you would be measured against, not the team.
A coverage team that lists data centres, online betting and holiday parks in the same breath is telling you the analyst work is about the asset and its cash flows rather than one industry's jargon. Expect valuation on yield and net asset value for the property names, and conventional earnings multiples for the gaming and leisure operators; the mix is the point of the group.
The firm
Bank of America frames its purpose as helping make financial lives better through the power of every connection, driven by what it calls Responsible Growth. It states a commitment to an in-office culture with specific attendance requirements and role-based flexibility. Applications are capped at 8 per recruitment season worldwide, and EMEA applicants are limited to one; once submitted you cannot apply to any other EMEA programme that season. Source
321 people have held London roles at Bank of America as a whole since 2018, against 139 in IBD, so investment banking is the largest single destination for the bank's London hires.
What this posting signals
Recruiting is rolling once applications open, assessments often begin before the deadline, and the bank says applications may close before the stated deadline. Anyone who converts to a full-time offer must be available to join the graduate programme from July 2027; no deferred start dates are offered. Source
A 13-day window from posting to deadline, with rolling assessment inside it, means the practical deadline is the first week. The four-month-plus-two structure starting in January and the July 2027 graduate start together read as a fast track to the 2027 analyst class for people who are already finishing, not a taster.
The one-EMEA-application rule is the real decision. If you would rather be in a different coverage group, apply to that group's advert instead; there is no second go at another EMEA programme in the same season.
Are you eligible?
You must hold or be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's from an accredited university. If already graduated, your graduation date must be after January 2026; if still studying, you must complete all exams and coursework before July 2027, and the bank may ask for evidence of that date before an offer. You need to be on track for at least a 2:1 or equivalent, available from Monday 11 January for four months with a possible two-month extension, and able to start the graduate programme in July 2027 if offered. Essentials: fluency in English; drive, innovation and a genuine interest in financial markets; teamwork, leadership, problem-solving and creativity; analytical skill with financial and commercial acumen; communication that influences outcomes; and integrity. Source
The graduation window is narrower than it looks: a 2025 graduate is out, a final-year student graduating in summer 2027 is in, and a penultimate-year student cannot be in London full-time from January and should look at the summer analyst intake instead.
