What the job is
You build and improve the programming languages, compilers and tools that a trading firm's own engineers write their code in. A compiler is the program that turns code people write into instructions a machine runs, so making it smarter makes every system at the firm faster or safer.
The seat sits in one of the firm's teams that work on programming languages. Its users are the other engineers in the building, and the trading systems they run depend on what you build.
