You help the economists who forecast how Britain's and Europe's economies will move, as an off-cycle intern in Goldman Sachs Global Investment Research in London. The economics team forecasts growth, inflation, jobs, interest rates and what central banks will do, and explains why to the bank's investor clients. Its views also feed the forecasts the bank's traders and strategists work from. It differs from equity research, which follows single companies, because its subject is the economy as a whole.

An off-cycle internship runs outside the summer window, and its length depends on your university and course. You sit inside the team's day to day work rather than on a separate programme track, with training at the start.
