You join a bank's commodities research team as an intern, helping work out where the prices of oil, gas, metals and farm goods are heading and explaining why to investors. The team is Macro Research, Commodities, in the Global Investment Research Division at Goldman Sachs. Macro research studies whole markets and economies rather than single companies, so the team sits with the economists and strategists, not with the analysts who each follow a list of companies.

This is an off-cycle internship for undergraduates, a placement that runs outside the usual summer window, and its length depends on your course and university. You are fully part of the team's day-to-day work.
