You help strategists advise investors on how to split money between shares, bonds, currencies and commodities, as an off-cycle intern at Goldman Sachs in London. Portfolio Strategy is part of macro research in Global Investment Research. The economists forecast the economy and the company analysts cover single firms. The strategists take those views and turn them into advice on what to hold, between asset classes and between countries and sectors, based on where growth, interest rates and markets are heading.

An off-cycle internship runs outside the summer window, and its length depends on your university and course. You work inside the team's day to day output rather than on a separate programme track, with training at the start.
