Job

Asset management · Real estate

Goldman Sachs · Off-cycle

Large global investment bank

What the job is

You help a team that buys buildings and property companies, and lends against property, as an off-cycle intern in Goldman Sachs Asset Management in London. The real estate team is part of the alternatives business, which puts the money of institutions and wealthy clients into assets other than listed shares and bonds. It aims to earn rent and to sell for more than it paid. It differs from the bank's real estate advisers in investment banking, who advise property companies on deals, in that it owns the assets.

An off-cycle internship runs outside the summer window, and its length depends on your university and course. You sit inside the team's live work rather than on a separate programme track, with training at the start.
