Software engineer - Distributed Compute

You keep the computer cluster where Hudson River Trading's researchers test trading ideas running fast, fair and easy to use. The firm's research cluster is a large set of linked computers, with ordinary processors, graphics processors, storage and networking, and it is where all of its trading strategies are generated.

As a distributed compute engineer you look after the whole software stack that runs the cluster, from the commands researchers use to start a job down to how data is kept close to the processors. Your users are the people inside the firm who write and test trading strategies.
