You design, run and fix the computers that carry the firm's automated trading, and you are the person called when they go wrong. Hudson River Trading's trading strategies run on its own Linux servers around the world. The Trading Systems Infrastructure team designs, builds and looks after those machines, the operating systems on them and the tools that run them. This is an experienced seat in that team.

The systems need to be low latency, which means they react to market data with as little delay as possible, because in automated trading a slower machine can mean a worse price or a missed trade.
