You spend a summer helping a property investment team at Morgan Stanley arrange loans for buildings it buys, or lend money to other property owners. The seat sits in Real Assets, the part of Morgan Stanley Investment Management that invests in physical things such as buildings and infrastructure on behalf of pension funds, governments and other large investors.

You join one of two teams. Real Estate Investing buys properties and property companies for institutional investors, and its London capital markets team arranges the borrowing behind its European deals. The European Real Assets Private Credit team works from the other side of the table. It lends money to property owners across Europe and earns interest on those loans.
