What the job is
You spend ten weeks programming FPGAs, chips that a trading firm uses to read market data and react to it faster than ordinary software can.
An FPGA is a chip whose circuits you design yourself in a hardware language, so a task runs as wiring rather than as a program on a processor. Trading firms use them because the gap between a price arriving from an exchange and the firm acting on it matters, and hardware closes that gap in a fraction of the time software takes. Your project is a working trading application, built under senior technologists, with the aim of putting it live before the internship ends.
