You join the bankers who look after BNP Paribas's relationships with large companies, and you do the research and number work behind the deals they bring in. Coverage is the part of Global Banking that owns the client relationship. A coverage banker is the client's main contact at the bank, learns how the company is financed and what it wants to do next, and brings in specialists from across the bank to put together financing or advice. Coverage at BNP Paribas runs as two closely linked teams, UK Coverage and the Corporate Clients Group, and this graduate seat sits in Coverage looking after companies based in the United Kingdom.

Global Banking is the side of the corporate and investment bank that serves large companies and institutions with loans, advice on mergers and acquisitions, and raising money through shares, bonds and loans. This is a non-rotational graduate programme. You join one team and stay in it for the whole programme, working closely with other teams across the bank, with the aim of a permanent position at the end.
