Order gateway

You write and look after the software that carries a trading firm's orders to exchanges and brokers around the world, and brings back the details of each trade. That software is called an order entry gateway. The firm's trading models decide what to buy and sell. The gateway takes each order, puts it in the exact form a particular exchange or broker expects, sends it, and handles the confirmations and trade details that come back. The firm trades many asset classes, such as shares and derivatives, so there are many such connections to keep correct and fast.

This is a senior seat. Alongside writing code you mentor other developers, review their code, help shape how the systems are designed and own projects from start to finish. Those who do well in it can grow into leading small teams and taking on project and people management.
