You design and run computer trading strategies in company shares that hold each position for days, weeks or months. This is a senior research seat in the Equity Mid/Low Frequency team at Squarepoint Capital. Frequency means how often a strategy trades. Mid and low frequency sit at the slower end, far from strategies that trade in a split second.

As a quant researcher, short for quantitative researcher, you use statistics and programming to find patterns in market and company data that help predict where share prices will go. The ideas that survive testing become strategies, sets of rules that the firm's automated trading framework then follows on its own. Your job is to find those ideas, show they are real and not luck, and put them into live trading.
