You research and build automated trading strategies based on volatility, the size of the swings in prices, and run them inside Squarepoint's trading systems.

Volatility is how much a price moves over time, regardless of direction. A volatility strategy aims to make money from how much prices move, or from the gap between how much the market expects them to move and how much they actually do, rather than from calling which way they go. You find such strategies in data, write them as code, and run them inside the firm's automated trading framework, the software that turns a strategy into live orders without a person pressing the button each time. This is a senior researcher seat.
