You spend 3 to 6 months on one of a bank's trading desks, doing the work of a junior analyst who helps salespeople and traders serve large investors.

Markets is the part of Barclays that buys and sells bonds, currencies, shares and other investments for institutional investors. Salespeople look after clients, traders price trades and carry the risk, and structurers design tailored products. An off-cycle internship runs outside the summer and gives more in-depth project work than a summer place.
