What the job is
You write C++ code for the systems that carry a trading firm's orders to the market as fast as possible. Squarepoint trades through software, so the programs that read prices and send orders are the trading floor. C++ is the language the firm uses for the parts where speed matters most, and this seat builds and maintains those parts.
The work sits on the critical trading path. That is the chain of software between a trading decision and an order reaching an exchange, where every fraction of a second of delay can cost money.
