You design and build the fast networks that link the firm's trading systems to the exchanges they trade on. Speed here is measured as latency, the delay before a message arrives, and the aim is to cut it as far as possible. You join the Colo Infrastructure team, which runs the equipment the firm places in co-location, meaning inside or right beside an exchange's own data centre.
