You make a trading firm's systems react to markets as fast as possible by writing and tuning very low level C++ code.
The Colo Engineering and Performance team at G-Research owns how well its applications perform in its colos, the data centres where the firm's computers sit next to the exchanges' own. It tells developers how to make their code faster and decides which hardware and operating system settings suit each site.
