You spend a summer researching bond issuers and then pitch an investment idea to the people who run the money. This is a summer internship at Capital Group in London for MBA students, at the level the firm calls summer associate.

You are placed in fixed income, which means bonds, the loans that governments and companies raise from investors. You research the issuers in one part of that market and the bonds they have sold, and the summer builds to an investment thesis, your argued case for what to buy or avoid and why, presented to portfolio managers and analysts.
