GIB industrials

You help advise industrial companies, and the private equity firms that invest in them, on buying and selling businesses and on raising money. The seat is in investment banking at RBC Capital Markets, covering the Industrials sector and specialising in Capital Goods, the companies that make the machinery and equipment other businesses buy. Private equity firms buy whole companies with investors' money and sell them later.

The team offers several kinds of service. In mergers and acquisitions, companies buy, sell or combine businesses. In equity capital markets they raise money by selling shares. In debt capital markets and leveraged finance they borrow, through bonds or through loans to companies that already carry a lot of debt, often to pay for a private equity purchase.

Associate is usually the rank above analyst. Associates run the day to day work of a deal, check what analysts produce and deal directly with clients. The seat asks for previous investment banking or company deal experience, so it is not a first job.
