You join a private bank as a new graduate and help bankers look after wealthy individuals and families. This is a full-time analyst job, the first rung for people straight out of university. Global Wealth is the part of Citi that serves rich clients, and in London it works as a private bank, which means one banker looks after each client's whole relationship and brings in specialists when needed.

The business rests on three things. It lends to clients in ways shaped to them, for example against their investments or property, so they have cash without selling what they own. It gives them access to outside managers who invest in shares, bonds and alternative investments such as hedge funds and private equity. And it helps families plan how their wealth is held and passed on. As an analyst you do the groundwork that lets the bankers and specialists offer all this.
