You spend 10 weeks in the summer of 2027 helping a research team in London study companies or the economy and write up views that investors use to decide what to buy and sell. Research at a bank is the team that studies listed companies, industries and the wider economy and publishes its views for the fund managers and other investors who trade through the bank. Each analyst covers a group of companies in one sector, or a part of the economy, and gives a view on whether each share is likely to rise or fall and why. You sit with that team for the whole summer.

The seat sits in Citi's Client organization, the part of the bank that serves corporations, governments and investors, and it is a summer analyst place, which is an internship at the most junior level. Those who do well are considered for a full time job in 2028, once they have graduated.
