Women in Technology

You spend a week inside the technology department of a trading firm, learning how its software is built and being assessed for a place on its summer internship. The seat is a place on the Women in Technology Spring Week at Maven Securities, an unpaid one week insight event in London that runs from Monday 12th April to Friday 16th April 2027. Maven Securities is a proprietary trading firm, which means it trades with its own money rather than for clients, and it specialises in market making in options and derivatives. Market making means always quoting a price to buy and a price to sell, and earning the difference between the two.

A spring week is not a job. It is a short introduction for people early in their degree, with training, group exercises and time with the people who do the work. Its value is what it leads to. You are assessed throughout the week for a fast tracked place on the 2028 Summer Software Developer Internship, and several members of the technology department began on this spring week and went on through the Graduate Programme.
