Independent advisory bank

What the job is

You build the financial models and documents behind takeovers and fundraising for energy and utility companies, as a junior banker in a small London deal team. The seat is in Guggenheim Securities' Power, Utilities and Renewables Investment Banking team. It advises companies on mergers and acquisitions, where one company buys or joins with another, and on capital raising, which means finding investors or lenders to put money into a business.

Its clients span old and new energy, from solar, wind and battery storage to conventional power stations, regulated power, gas and water utilities, advanced nuclear technology and energy efficiency services. Analysts take part in each deal from the search for opportunities to completion and beyond, working close to senior bankers and to the client.
