You build the shared software platforms that a trading firm's researchers and technology teams run their work on, writing much of it in Rust. This seat does not write trading models. It builds the plumbing underneath them, the frameworks, services and platforms that make the investment teams and the other developers quicker at their work. The systems are distributed, meaning they run across many machines at once, and they must stay up while the firm depends on them. Rust is a programming language built to run as fast as C++ while guarding against common memory mistakes.
