You advise energy, mining and metals companies on buying and selling businesses and on raising money, as an associate in an investment banking team that covers them.

The seat is in the Natural Resources Group at Deutsche Bank, part of its Investment Banking Coverage & Advisory division. A coverage team owns the bank's relationships with clients in one industry and brings them its advice and financing, from mergers and acquisitions to leveraged finance, lending to companies that carry a lot of debt, and equity capital markets, raising money by selling shares.

An associate is usually the rank above analyst. You run much of the day to day work on deals, check what the analysts produce and deal directly with clients.
