This is the 2027 London intake of Goldman's Summer Analyst Program for Asset Management, Client Solutions Group: a nine to ten week summer internship for students pursuing a bachelor's or graduate degree, with orientation, training and real responsibilities alongside the firm's people. Division: Asset and Wealth Management. Corporate title: Summer Analyst. The page carries a date of 16 August 2026. Source
Goldman describes Asset Management as the primary investment area within the firm, offering investment and advisory services across public and private markets for pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, endowments, foundations, financial advisors and individuals. The wider division holds over $3 trillion in assets under supervision and works across traditional public investing and alternative investments. Source
Asset management is a different business from the investment bank, and the difference is the client. A banker advises a company on a transaction for a fee; asset management is handed money by an institution and judged on what it does with it. That changes the rhythm of the work - no signing date to work back from, a quarter and then another quarter - and it changes what interviewers listen for: a view you can hold and defend over time rather than a process you can run to a deadline.
'Client Solutions Group' is the token that decides your summer, and this page never explains it. Everything else here is division-level boilerplate shared with Goldman's other asset management rows. What the name and the division text point at is the client side of the business - working with the institution that owns the money rather than running the portfolio itself - but that is the name talking, not the page. Treat it as unknown and get it answered before you commit: ask a recruiter, or an alum, what CSG in London actually does day to day, because on a four-application budget you cannot afford to find out in week one of the internship.
The team
The unit is Goldman Sachs Asset Management, inside Asset and Wealth Management, with Client Solutions Group named in the title as the team. The division's stated client base is mutual funds, hedge funds, pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, endowments, foundations, third-party wealth firms and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, and the firm stresses an apprenticeship culture in which junior people learn directly from seasoned professionals. 18 people have held London roles in Goldman Sachs Asset Management since 2018, against 232 in the investment banking division. Read the 18 as the whole asset management side of the London office, not as this desk: there is no separate figure for Client Solutions Group, and a named sub-team inside a division of that size is a small room.
The firm
779 people have held London roles at Goldman Sachs as a whole since 2018, across banking, markets, research and asset management. It is the deepest single-firm bench in our London data, which is useful here precisely because this posting is thin: the people who can tell you what the seat is are findable.
What this posting signals
A 2027 summer programme on a page dated August 2026 is the annual campus cycle behaving normally. London summer applications open in late summer and the classes fill through the autumn, so the real window is now - apply in the next few weeks rather than waiting for a deadline that the page does not carry.
No deadline is stated, and Goldman reviews on a rolling basis. Combine that with the fact that this page tells you almost nothing about what the desk does, and the sequence is clear: get your questions answered quickly rather than thoroughly, then apply - a late application to a team you understand perfectly is worth less than an early one you can still ask about at interview.
Are you eligible?
The programme is for students pursuing a bachelor's or graduate degree. Each applicant may apply to up to four separate business and location combinations in any recruiting year; any additional application is automatically withdrawn, and to add another you must first withdraw an existing one that has not been turned down. Creating multiple email addresses to apply to more opportunities is not permitted. Source
The four-application cap makes an unexplained team name expensive. Every Goldman business you apply to in London - this one included - consumes a quarter of your allowance at the firm, and an application to a desk you cannot describe is the weakest use of it. The page also gives no graduation window, no degree subject and no right-to-work line, so those filters sit in the form: if you need sponsorship, settle that first.
Ready to apply?
No deadline given, so it closes when the places fill.
Most junior seats are filled by someone writing to the right person before a portal
fills up. Here is one of the people Goldman Sachs publishes, in full.
1 person. Their role, the page the firm names them on, and how to reach them
The route that always works, and the one they are most likely to read.
The firm publishes this person, and publishes no address we could read for anyone here, so there is no pattern to show you either. Search their name and firm on LinkedIn and write from your own account.
