Team: FICC and Equities (Sales and Trading). Global Banking & Markets (Public) / FICC and Equities (Sales and Trading) enables our clients to buy and sell financial products, raise funding and manage risk (source)
Goldman's Summer Analyst Program is a nine-to-ten-week summer internship for students pursuing a bachelor's or graduate degree, with an orientation, training designed to help you succeed, and real responsibilities alongside the firm's people. This is the 2027 London intake for FICC & Equities, inside the Global Banking & Markets division. Source
The firm labels the business 'Global Banking & Markets (Public) / FICC and Equities (Sales and Trading)' and says it enables clients to buy and sell financial products, raise funding and manage risk, making markets and facilitating client transactions in fixed income, equity, currency and commodity products. Read the title as two halves and two jobs. FICC is fixed income, currencies and commodities - the rates, credit, FX and commodity desks. Equities is cash equities, equity derivatives and the financing around them. Sales owns the client and the phone: you cover a set of asset managers, hedge funds or corporates, bring them ideas and take their orders. Trading owns the risk: you quote a price, you hold the position, and the P&L is visible by the end of the day. The day starts before the market does.
The '(Public)' in Goldman's own label for the division is the wall. Markets works from information anyone can get and is kept away from the client and deal information Investment Banking holds. That decides your interview - a trade you can argue, a view on rates or oil, mental arithmetic and market awareness, not a DCF - and it means moving to banking afterwards is a change of career rather than a step sideways.
The team
No desk is named here, and that is not an oversight: it is how markets hiring works. FICC & Equities is dozens of separate desks, and the bulge-bracket summer class is recruited into the division, moved across desks through the internship and allocated at the end of it. You cannot pick rates over credit at application stage. What you can do is arrive with an actual view on markets, because the rotations are the interview.
The firm says it makes markets in and clears client transactions on major stock, options and futures exchanges worldwide, and that through its global sales force it maintains relationships with clients, receives orders and distributes investment research, trading ideas, market information and analysis. 28 people have held London roles in Goldman Sachs' FICC division since 2018 - the fixed income, currencies and commodities half of the business this programme feeds.
29 people have held London roles in Goldman Sachs' Equities division since 2018, the other half of the same posting and the larger of the two. One application covers both, so it is worth knowing you may be placed on either side.

779 people have held London roles at Goldman Sachs as a whole since 2018, across banking, markets, research and asset management.
What this posting signals
A 2027 summer programme carrying an August 2026 date on the page is the annual campus cycle opening on schedule. The London markets classes at the big banks are filled through the autumn, well before the academic year is out, so the practical window is September and October - not whatever later date you are imagining.
No deadline is stated. Goldman reviews as applications arrive and stops when the class is full, so the absence of a date means earlier rather than later, and a strong application in October beats a perfect one in January.
Are you eligible?
The programme is for students pursuing a bachelor's or graduate degree. Each applicant may apply to up to four separate business and location combinations in any given recruiting year; any additional application is automatically withdrawn, and to apply to another you must withdraw a current application that has not been turned down. Creating multiple email addresses to apply to more opportunities is not permitted. Source
Four is the whole year's budget across every Goldman business and city, and a markets application and a banking application are two separate ones. Decide which side of the wall you actually want before you start clicking: they want different interviews, different preparation, and they reward different people.
Ready to apply?
No deadline given, so it closes when the places fill.
Most junior seats are filled by someone writing to the right person before a portal
fills up. Here is one of the people Goldman Sachs publishes, in full.
1 person. Their role, the page the firm names them on, and how to reach them
The route that always works, and the one they are most likely to read.
The firm publishes this person, and publishes no address we could read for anyone here, so there is no pattern to show you either. Search their name and firm on LinkedIn and write from your own account.
