Goldman's Summer Analyst Program is a nine-to-ten-week summer internship for students pursuing a bachelor's or graduate degree, with an orientation, training, and real responsibilities alongside fellow interns and the firm's people. This posting is the 2027 London intake for Wealth Management, Quantitative Finance, and its own fields put the division as Asset & Wealth Management with a corporate title of Summer Analyst. Source
The only thing the posting says about the technical side is a single line: Goldman states that the wealth business's growth is driven by a relentless focus on clients and customers, its people, and leading-edge technology, data and design. Its description of the division otherwise covers advisor-led businesses, not a quantitative function. Source
So be clear about what is and is not known here: the posting does not describe this desk, and we are not going to invent it. What the title does establish is that this is not the adviser track. A quantitative finance seat inside a wealth business is the modelling side of managing private money - portfolio construction, asset allocation, risk and analytics applied to client portfolios rather than to a trading book. If you want the client-facing private wealth job, this is the wrong posting. If you are a maths, statistics, physics or computer science student who wants investment work without going into markets, this is a rarer door than most people notice.
The team
The seat sits in Wealth Management, which Goldman says includes Private Wealth Management, Goldman Sachs Ayco, Wealth Solutions, and Private Banking, Lending & Deposits, serving ultra-high-net-worth and high-net-worth individuals, family offices, foundations, endowments, and corporations and their employees. The parent division, Asset & Wealth Management, has over $3 trillion in assets under supervision across public investing and alternatives, and the firm emphasises an apprenticeship culture in which juniors learn directly from seasoned professionals. Source
7 people have held London roles in Goldman Sachs' Wealth Management since 2018, against 232 in the Investment Banking Division. It is the smallest London unit at the firm - a much shorter queue than banking, and almost no alumni network to ask about it, which makes the interview itself your best source of information about the desk.
Quantitative Finance is listed as its own business line in the title, which means it is its own business/location combination on Goldman's application system - a separate application from any other wealth seat, drawn from the same allowance of four. You are choosing the quant desk specifically, not wealth management in general, so the application has to argue for the quantitative work.
The firm
779 people have held London roles at Goldman Sachs as a whole since 2018, across banking, markets, asset and wealth management and research.
What this posting signals
This is the annual campus cycle running on time: a 2027 summer class listed in the middle of August 2026, the same way it recurs every year. London summer classes at the bulge brackets fill through the early autumn, so the real window is September and October whatever the nominal one turns out to be.
No deadline is stated, which means there is nothing to wait for and no date that protects you. Get the application in while the screening is still first-come rather than polishing it into November.
Are you eligible?
Open to students pursuing a bachelor's or graduate degree. You may apply to up to four separate business/location combinations in any recruiting year; any additional application is auto-withdrawn, you must withdraw a live application that has not been turned down in order to add another, and creating multiple email addresses to apply to more opportunities is not permitted. Source
The posting sets no degree-subject requirement, but a seat with 'Quantitative Finance' in its name is screened on quantitative evidence. Put your maths and statistics modules, your programming, and any real modelling work on the first half of the first page - a data project you actually built beats a line saying you are interested in markets. That is the specific thing this application is testing.
Ready to apply?
No deadline given, so it closes when the places fill.
Most junior seats are filled by someone writing to the right person before a portal
fills up. Here is one of the people Goldman Sachs publishes, in full.
1 person. Their role, the page the firm names them on, and how to reach them
The route that always works, and the one they are most likely to read.
The firm publishes this person, and publishes no address we could read for anyone here, so there is no pattern to show you either. Search their name and firm on LinkedIn and write from your own account.
