Trading

You trade environmental certificates, the records that prove a unit of power came from a renewable source, for an energy company's trading desk. The main ones are Guarantees of Origin, used across Europe, Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin, the British version, and Renewables Obligation Certificates, which British energy suppliers must hold to show they bought enough renewable power. Generators sell them alongside their power, and suppliers and companies buy them to back green claims or meet the rules.

The seat starts by supporting trades and grows into running your own book. A book is the set of trades a trader is responsible for, and its profit or loss is the trader's result. You do this within risk limits the firm sets.
