Job

Quantitative analysis · Fixed income / Financing

Bruin · Analyst

Recruiter, hiring for a firm it may not name

What the job is

You build the maths models that traders at an investment bank use to price and manage the risk of bond and financing deals. A quant is someone who turns markets into equations and code, and front office means you sit with the people who trade and earn money for the bank, rather than in a support or control function.

The seat is in the Financing Quant team in London. Fixed income covers bonds and other products that pay a set stream of interest. Financing is the business of lending cash or securities to clients against collateral, which is something of value held back in case the borrower does not pay. Your models tell the desk what a trade is worth, how much it could lose, and how to make the best use of the bank's limited money and balance sheet.
