What the job is
You join a graduate scheme at an energy trading company, rotating through teams that buy, sell and move gas and power to learn how a trading business works. It is a two-year programme made up of three placements, each eight months long, in different teams.
Centrica Energy moves energy from where it is made to where it is used. Commodity trading means buying and selling raw goods such as gas and power. Optimisation means earning the most from contracts and assets, such as storage, by choosing when to buy, sell or use them.
