What the job is
You help tell company boards whether the price in a deal is fair to their shareholders, by valuing the businesses involved. You join the Transaction Opinions & Board Advisory team in London, part of the Valuations & Opinions Group at Lincoln International.
A fairness opinion is a formal view, given to a board or a special committee of its directors, on whether the price in a sale, merger or similar deal is fair. A solvency opinion says whether a company will still be able to pay its debts after a deal. The team also gives boards wider corporate finance advice.
The deals include mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, recapitalisations and spin offs. Clients are public and private companies and private equity firms.
