What the job is
You decide how to invest in European government bonds, interest rates and derivatives, and you place the trades. The seat sits in the PIMCO liquid alternatives platform in London. Liquid alternatives are funds that use hedge fund methods, such as profiting when prices fall as well as when they rise, while holding things that can be bought and sold easily on any day.
You are an experienced investor, not a trainee. You come up with your own trade ideas, run them, and add to the views of the wider team. In time there is a chance to run your own slice of the money, called an allocation of risk capital, and be judged on its results.
